Senior Leadership Team

I am the lead pastor here at Temple Baptist Church. I was born and raised in Fort Pierce, Florida, where I gave my life to Christ at a young age and surrendered the call to preach at 17 years old. After graduating from Victory Baptist Bible College, I began pastoring a church in South Carolina. In 1999, I received a call inviting me to be a fill-in for a church in Cullman, Alabama. I was asked to stay full-time and have been at Temple ever since. I also serve on the board of directors for the Timothy Initiative. I travel nationwide, teaching Christians how to share their story and make disciples through DMD (disciples making disciples).

My wife Tammy and I, have been married for almost 30 years. We have four daughters: Jordan (Austin) Whisnant, Rebecca (Shawn) Dehart, Brandie (Clay) Morrison, and Mackenzie Carter. We have four grandchildren: Carter, Peter, Emory, and Maisie

When I'm not preaching or studying, I am usually in the woods with my coonhounds or on the golf course.

"My heart for God and love for the ministry are my main motivations in life. I have witnessed God move in miraculous ways over the past 24 years as we have seen lives changed and people come to Christ.” - Pastor Malcolm Carter II

I was born and raised on the West Coast, spending most of my childhood and teen years in the Phoenix, AZ Metro area. In 1997, I moved to Huntsville, AL to go to college at the University of Alabama in Huntsville to pursue a degree in Atmospheric Science. That same year, after attending Temple Baptist for several months, I trusted Christ as my savior. For the next several years I continued to attend and volunteer at Temple, study at UAH, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and Math, and then a Master Degree in Atmospheric Science.

In early 2005, I felt the call to enter fulltime ministry. Just a few years later in 2007, I started full time at Temple as the Executive Pastor. It has been an amazing journey thus far, and God has truly blessed not only Temple, but my family. I met my wife Nancy at Temple and we were married at Temple in 2006. We have three amazing children Dawson, Preston and Kirsty, who is grown and now living in Huntsville, AL.

Away from the office I enjoy storm chasing. I have been able to see many tornadoes over the years and be in the eye of several hurricanes. We are a huge soccer family and spend many hours each week on the soccer pitch. My motivation in life is to love God and to serve Him in whatever capacity He sees fit. I am completely humbled that I get to serve the Lord and to work with people not only at Temple but across the USA through the work being done with The Timothy Initiative. I am excited about what the future holds at Temple and can’t wait to see what God has planned for all of us!

I have lived in Cullman most of my life and it is a privilege to call it my home. I am married to Lacy and together we have three beautiful girls, Brooklyn, Kyleigh, and Makinley. I graduated from Cullman High School and received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama.

After college is when Lacy and I made Temple Baptist Church our home. I served the first 13 years at Temple being over the Children's Program. I now serve as the Chief of Staff where it is my hope and plan to be an encouragement to all of the staff team so that we can fulfill all that God is leading us to do. Outside of the church, my hobbies include coaching, wakeboarding/surfing, and anything with a little bit of adventure!

I have lived in Vinemont for most of my life and I am a 2000 Vinemont graduate. I married Stephanie in 2004, and since then, we have had two children, Abigail and Grady. My family came to Temple in January 2013 and on May 5, 2013, I made the best decision of my life and accepted Christ as my Savior. We have been active volunteers in the church and active participants in Life Groups since we came, and I quickly realized my calling for Life Groups. I have enjoyed serving God through the Life Groups Ministry and have recently accepted the call to make it full-time. Getting the opportunity to hear how God can take someone's prayer request one week and it became their praise the next week is an amazing feeling and I want to be able to help everyone in Life Groups witness the same. Besides being a follower of Christ, a husband and a father, I am an avid hunter and college football fan (Roll Tide).

My name is Paul MIller, and I am from Iowa by way of Georgia. I became a born-again Christ follower in 2007. Then, back in 2022, I graduated from Cedarville University, in Ohio, with a degree in digital film production and minors in theatre performance and Bible. Media and entertainment have always had a special place in my life, and for those who know me well, know I have always been a storyteller at heart. I have a desire to use digital and visual media, along with live theatrical productions, as a platform to spread the gospel while uplifting the church. At Temple Baptist, I am excited about using my passions and skill sets to serve this body of believers in Alabama and beyond.

Outside of this position, I am an avid film enthusiast and critic. I love to write, read, and play the piano in my spare time. Feel free to reach out at any time!

I have been leading the Worship Ministry at Temple Baptist for the past six years, and have been a worship minister for more than 20 years. At a young age, I knew God had a plan for me and music would be in that plan. But I never dreamed He would be using me in the capacity that I am in right now.

I grew up a preacher's kid and knew I wanted to serve the Lord just as I had seen my dad do. After graduating from Hartselle High School in 1996, I attended Wallace State and Athens State on music scholarships. I was able to travel all over the country doing what I loved, singing. In 2000, I married Trina Halbrooks and a few years later we welcomed our daughter Jayla. We enjoy spending time together, golfing, running and exercising. Trina and I love leading worship

Growing up a preacher's kid, I've always been in church, but I did not give my life to Jesus until July 2009. I am a native of Florida (Go Gators!), but moved to Cullman in 2007. I worked/volunteered in preschool ministry for 15 years before assuming my current position as the Director of Preschool Ministry. It is my privilege to serve the Lord as the leader over our Zoo Kidz Preschool Ministry. We have a great group of kids, along with an incredible bunch of volunteers, who are committed to sharing God's love with our babies.

I am the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, a wonderful son-n-law and thrilled to be the MeMe of two adorable grandbabies. If you're new to Temple and I haven't had a chance to meet you, please come by our check-in booth or stop me in passing so I can introduce myself. If you would like to know more about our preschool ministry, feel free to contact me at 256-737-0112 x108 or email me at mendy@templebaptistcullman.com.

I love teaching kids about our Lord and Saviour as well as connecting with the parents. When I'm not doing those things I enjoy spending time with my lovely wife.

I came on staff at Temple in 2015. I uprooted my family from Panama City, Fl., exchanging the sandy white beaches for the rolling hills, and moved to Cullman. I have been married to Tracey for more than 10 years and we have two beautiful children, Adison and Carter. I have been in student ministry for more than 10 years and received my Bachelor's in Ministry Studies from The Baptist College of Florida. I enjoy the outdoors, so if it involves hunting, fishing, hiking, camping or swinging in a hammock, I am all about it. But most of all, I love connecting students to God and others.

I direct the ministries to middle school, high school and college age students to help them develop a faith that sticks. A big part of that effort is partnering with parents, training adult volunteers and hosting quality programs for students. I am completely humbled that I get to build relationships with students and help them develop their identity in Christ in this critical part of their life.

I was born in Birmingham, Alabama, but raised in Amory, Mississippi. One of the greatest blessings of my life is being married to Kaylin Bates. I have spent the majority of my adult years in Tampa, Florida working in ministry, serving teens and those at risk of becoming homeless. We were beyond excited to trade the beauty of the ocean for Cullman, and even more grateful to serve as the Children's pastor at Temple. My mission is to ensure that every child at Temple understands they belong, recognizes their significance to the kingdom of God, and grasps the profound value inherent in being created in the image of God.

Beyond the church, my interests include all things football (War Eagle), golf, quality time with friends, and anything related to food. I am here to serve in any way possible, so please feel free to reach out at any time!
